One church, one mission, two locations South Fort Collins West Greeley

I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth.

Job 19:25
Welcome to Redeemer

When people think of a church, most people think of a place. When you think about Redeemer we want you to think about people, not just any people but a growing group of diverse people who are passionately following Jesus.

We want you to “rejoice” and celebrate with us the marvelous grace of God in Jesus Christ. We want you to “relate” with us in the transforming power of God’s word. We want you to experience the acceptance, significance and purpose we believe God promises for our lives individually and as a community. We want you to join with us as we seek to be energized and better equipped to deal with life’s challenges. When you think of Redeemer, we want you to think of us as individuals “responding” to the needs of others by connecting others to Jesus. We want you to notice what a difference a group of Christian people can make in their community and in their world as they dedicate their lives and resources to God’s purposes.

We want you to know that we love, care for, and encourage you as much as we do ourselves. We want you to notice a people connected to Jesus!

We would love to have you join us!

Tim Runtsch, Senior Pastor

WHY WE EXIST
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” --Matthew 28:29-20

Using its time, talent and available resources, Redeemer exists for the purpose of connecting people to Jesus in a joyful way and with a sense of community. These include:

  1. Those who are disconnected and need Christ as their savior so they can experience his unconditional love and grace.
  2. Those who are currently involved at Redeemer and can experience spiritual growth through a life of rejoicing, relating and responding.
  3. Those who are part of the greater church, the body of believers here on earth that exist to proclaim the gospel of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
OUR MISSION
Redeemer Lutheran Church is a grace-filled community of Christians called to connect people to Jesus Christ for a life of rejoicing, relating and responding.

“Connecting People To Jesus”

GROWING AS A DISCIPLE AT REDEEMER
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” – Ephesians 4:11-13

In the fall of 2007, we introduced a discipleship model we call “The Three R’s of Redeemer.” It’s a way of life for those who want to follow Jesus and live the Christian life to its fullest. By learning about and engaging in the Three R’s, you can grow deeper in your relationship with God and his people, serve the body of Christ and celebrate all the Lord has done in your life. Simply put…the Three R’s are:
  • Rejoice – We gather in worship and celebration to rejoice in God’s grace and experience renewal through Word and Sacrament.
  • Relate – A growing relationship to God through his Word, small groups and to the community of believers called Redeemer.
  • Respond – We respond to God’s love through our service and witness in the church, community and world.
OUR VISION
"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come to pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11-13

OUR HISTORY
Redeemer Lutheran Church was chartered on October 16, 1988, with the mission of reaching out in the name of Jesus Christ to the people of south Fort Collins, north Loveland, Windsor and the surrounding area. Since that time the people of Redeemer have grown in both grace and numbers. The congregation was founded with a high priority for Christian education for young and old alike. Pastor Gary Grasmick served Redeemer on a part-time basis from October of 1988 until July of 1990. The Rev. Tim Runtsch was installed as Redeemer’s first full-time pastor on July 15th, 1990.

In September of that year the congregation bought property on Brittany Drive in south Fort Collins. The congregation’s first church building of its own was dedicated on that property on December 5th, 1993. Prior to this facility Redeemer worshipped in a nursing home chapel and in a storefront. In September of 1994, Redeemer opened the Redeemer Preschool.

On Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004, we relocated to our brand new church on Greenstone Trail in order to provide more a dequate space for the ministries of the congregation. The congregation continues to grow and expand its ministry. In May 2009, we added 24,000 square feet to our current facility, including several new classrooms, large gathering atrium, coffee shop, kitchen, additional preschool space, and a new Life Center for worship, fitness and sports ministry programming, children and student ministry event, meetings and outreach.
